Geomet International B.V. sources and supplies bulk ferrosilicon, ferromanganese, silicomanganese and ferrochrome — standard and refined grades — from producers worldwide to steel mills, foundries and alloy consumers.
Product range
We trade in full container loads and bulk parcels. Chemistry, sizing and packing are agreed per contract — the grades below are the ones most often requested.
ApplicationDeoxidation and silicon alloying in carbon, alloy and stainless steel; inoculation and nodularisation in the foundry.
ApplicationManganese alloying and desulphurisation across long and flat steel products; refined grades for low-carbon and stainless heats.
ApplicationThe workhorse alloy of the rebar and billet trade — manganese and silicon added in a single, cost-efficient addition.
ApplicationChromium input for stainless and tool steel; refined low-carbon grades where the final carbon specification leaves no headroom.
Grades are indicative and offered subject to availability. Exact chemistry, size fractions, packing and analysis certificates are confirmed on each contract before shipment.
How we trade
Direct relationships with smelters and established producers, so material is traced to a known furnace rather than an anonymous parcel.
Big bags of 1,000 or 1,250 kg on pallets, jumbo bags in 20′ containers, or bulk and break-bulk parcels for larger tonnages.
Sampling and analysis by an independent inspection company at load port or on discharge, with mill certificates and safety data sheets supplied.
FOB, CFR, CIF and DAP under Incoterms® 2020, into European and overseas ports, with warehousing and call-off arranged where required.
The company
Geomet International B.V. was incorporated in the Netherlands in 2010 and is registered with the Dutch Chamber of Commerce (Kamer van Koophandel) under number 50026666. The company is based at 3258 AD Den Bommel, in the South Holland delta, within reach of the Rotterdam and Antwerp port complex through which most of our cargo moves.
We are a trading house, not a broker: we take title to the material, carry the risk of the voyage and answer for the quality that arrives. That means a single counterparty for the contract, the documents and the analysis — and one point of contact if a shipment needs attention.
Our buyers are steel mills, foundries, welding-consumable producers and alloy distributors. Our suppliers are smelters we have bought from over many years. Most of our business is repeat business, which is the only reference a trader really has.
